Walking On

Mujhe chalte jana hai, bas chalte jana. Gulzar’s lines for the song Musafir Hoon Yaaron echo the truth about our life’s journey. Life is a nomad, it never stops at one place. Manzil (Destination), home, goal, etc. are what we chase and yet these are just fleeting stages of life. They are like the horizon, you keep walking towards it and it seems so far. As you keep walking, you realise that there are many more horizons ahead of you.

In school, you might have waited for Class 12 to end so that you could live the college life — That was a dream for you. Yet, when you reached college life you realised that there is a lot more to come. When you were in college, graduating and landing up a good job might have been a goal for you and that goal too just came and went by.. Life’s journey continued.

There are good phases in this journey and then there are phases where you wish you weren’t there. However, there is no way you can avoid a phase that is bound to come. Keep walking on, because wether good or bad, nothing will last forever. In this journey, you’ll meet people. Some who last for a few hours and some who will be there for decades but eventually, the set of people close to you will keep changing.

Men may come and men may go, but life goes on..

Don’t forget to pause, take a deep breath in and admire the scenes passing by. Don’t forget to cherish what is there today because the flowers that die in the winters, don’t blossom again. You won’t be able to see more than a glimpse and the scene on life’s curtain will change. There is no eternal sunshine and there is no eternal darkness in this journey of life. There are seasons, yes! But every summer is not the same and every rain is not romantic. Walk on, keep walking on..

Keep walking on…
